Bass & Sub Bass

Active Noise Cancelling Off / Bluetooth On COWIN E7 bass is very rich with decidedly punchy mid-bass and sufficiently profound sub-bass. You might find the middle-bass too loud if you like heavy-bass headphones.

Applying an EQ, their mid-bass and sub-bass get insanely empowered, making them reach a respectably entry-level basshead rumble and impact that will massage your ears and nearby areas (advanced basshead EQ skills are needed to reach this level of impact).

This score of 8/10 is more for the mid-bass punch force and basshead capability than for bass quality.

Bluetooth and Active Noise Cancelling turned on. The COWIN E7 is set up in ANC mode to reduce their bass, making them more balanced. When needed, their party-inflected bass will become a conservative yet not anemic tone that offers lower frequencies at lower levels.

Applying an EQ in this mode can be beneficial if you set it to empower the lowest frequencies range, mostly you can feed anything below 50Hz making their sub-bass greatly deeper sounding and leaving their mid-bass as free of boomy sound as before equalizing.

They are not getting a 7.25/10 for intensity, but rather for non-invasive sounds.

We did not perform our basshead testing on the COWIN E7, as we do with all Bluetooth Headphones we reviewed. This is to prevent possible damage to their Bluetooth or ANC circuitry. However, you will see that the COWIN E7 have the ability to produce some basshead impact, rumble and resonance without the use of amplifiers like the Fiio E12 Mont Blanc Cayin C5i.
