Are You Ready to Steal from Walmart for Your Case?
Walmart does not usually press charges against shoplifters if the item stolen has a value less than $25.
In this case, they will encourage you to return the items and leave the store. If the value of what you have stolen is between $1000-$2000, then this is classed as a class 6 felony.
This could result in the perpetrator looking at between 1-5 years in jail, or a fine of up to $2500 and no more than 12 months in jail. Anything over $2000 can be considered a Class 5 felony, which could lead to up to 10 years imprisonment.

What is a Loss Prevention Associate?
The Loss Prevention Associate is charged with identifying and decreasing theft from retail shops. They are often present in the retail store to observe any unusual behaviour and mix with customers.
They don’t want to be noticed.
They are responsible for apprehending shoplifters once they have left the store, filing reports on shoplifting incidents, and creating theft prevention strategies.
Walmart to Ban Shoplifters at First Time For How Long?

Walmart faces a serious threat from the theft of their goods. It may not seem that much to steal $15 worth goods from Walmart.
Because they are stealing $15 every day, repeated offenders often get misdemeanors charged when they ought to be being charged with class 6 felonies. In recent years, Walmart and similar retailers have been tackling the issue by building cases against repeat offenders who can now expect to receive longer prison sentences and heavier fines.
Walmart How Long Can They Keep Shoplifting Charges Afflicted?
